I'm Michael Lascar – singer, musician and songwriter with roots in Mauritius and home in the Zurich area. Music has been with me as long as I can remember. It isn't a job to me, it's a calling – a way of feeling life that has shaped me since childhood.

Growing up with the rhythm of reggae, soul and Creole sounds, I found my own musical voice early – honest, soulful and full of energy.

I became known in 2009 through my run on MusicStar, the talent show of Swiss national television, where I had the chance to move audiences with my voice and presence and finished in 3rd place. That experience opened many doors and confirmed my path as a musician – passion, discipline and heart.

Since then I've stood on countless stages – from intimate acoustic sessions in tiny bars to open-air festivals. Every stage, every show is a new encounter, a new story. I've been lucky to work with great musicians and producers and to keep developing my style – a blend of rock, soul, reggae and pop that reflects my cultural roots and international experience.

Today I live in the Zurich area and play regularly at hotels, bars, corporate events, weddings, private parties and festivals. I sing in English, French, Creole and some German – music knows no borders, and that's exactly what I want people to feel when I'm on stage.

Whether a quiet ballad or a driving groove – I want to touch people, give them a moment where everything else fades away. Because music connects us, no matter where we come from.

Milestones

My road so far

  1. Mauritius

    Raised on sega, reggae and soul

    The island in the Indian Ocean still shapes my groove and the languages I sing in.

  2. 2009

    MusicStar finalist (SRF) – 3rd place

    Swiss television's talent show puts me on the big stage. The same year, my single “Number 1” is released.

  3. 2009

    “Underneath the Skin” with Kwan Hendry

    Dance single with remixes by Christopher S and Mike Candys – my voice on the club floor.

  4. 2011

    Band project LASCAR

    Seggae – the fusion of sega and reggae – with concerts in Bern, Olten, Stäfa and Gersau.

  5. Today

    Solo with guitar and voice

    Weddings, hotels, bars, corporate events and festivals in Zurich and across Switzerland.

Music is the language everyone understands – it needs no translation, just an open heart.
